Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. Sometimes a few at a time.
Okay, I’m starting to get a handle on vector arithmetic.
Probably the one most likely to make pro-programmers roll their eyes.
I always write these DevLogs in a stream of consciousness kinda way. It means writing these is a fairly speedy affair and most of the work is in recording gifs. But that means if it’s one of those days where nothing’s coming out (not eloquently at least), the DevLog is going to suffer.
No pretty pictures this week as it was mostly spent researching and writing documents.
One of the biggest dangers of being a solo developer is how easy it is to focus on the task at hand whilst forgetting to take a step back and notice the direction you’re heading.
If I had a producer, this week I may had been fired.
Experimentation is great but it eventually must be balanced with deadlines and clear intentions. Which kinda segues into this week’s breakthrough.
I knew this would be a leaner update than usual, since I would be focusing on game design/direction whilst starting a smaller project with some of the code from Project BUDS. But other than a few shader experiments, my focus was entirely on the new project.
